The Outward Bound Trip

On Monday 5th March, 10 students had the opportunity to attend The Outward Bound Trust in Aberdovey for 5 days of challenges in order for them to become more confident, more effective and more capable at school, college and in the workplace. 
The Outward Bound Trust is an educational charity that uses the outdoors to help develop young people from all walks of life. The trust runs adventurous and challenging outdoor learning courses that equip young people with valuable skills for education, work and life. 

Change to school bus service

We have been advised by D&G bus that route 10 will change from the 26th February 2018.

The revised route will provide a before and after school service from Hanley bus station, Bentillee, Adderley Green, Park Hall, Coalville, Meir Square, Meir and onto Longton. 

The bus will depart Hanley bus station at 07:45 arriving at St Thomas More at 08:31 and leave school at 15:20.  The updated timetable and ticket prices are attached.

MacKenzie Keeble Author Visit

 

On Wednesday the 17th January Year 7  had the pleasure of meeting MacKenzie Keeble the author of the book " The Jackson Children and the Dragon Hunt"

Four of our children Adam Brown, Faiza Hashmi, Treasure Udochukwu and Daniella Attu all wrote reviews. Following on from this, 2 of the pupils reviews have been chosen to appear in MacKenzie's next book which they were really excited about.

 

Stoke FC Visit

 

On Thursday 21st December the Year 7 pupils received an early Christmas present with the arrival for four Stoke City stars who came to visit the pupils. With the assistance of the Stoke City FC in the community team, the players held a question and answer session with the year 7 pupils and were more than happy to sign autographs and pose for pictures. The players even showed off their skills on the badminton court and had a short game of doubles.

Advent Services with Lou Macari - 21st December

 

As we approach the end of term, all students attended our Advent Service, to celebrate together as we become evercloser to Christmas day. Our Chaplaincy team lead us through a wonderful service, giving the opportunity to remember the true reason for our Christmas celebrations and reminding us all that it's a time to look out for others and to share gifts, joy and peace with those around us.

Prize Evening - 19th December

 

It was great to welcome back last year's yr 11 and 13 students this week for their prize evening, where we were able to celebrate their success together with their teachers and families. It was particularly nice to see many of our past sixth form students after returning from their first term in their various universities and work places.
