Open Evening - Thursday 21st September 2017

Our upcoming open evening for entry into Year 7 at St Thomas More Catholic Academy in September 2018 is to be held on Thursday 21st September 2017.

There is a real sense of aspiration and enthusiasm within our school community at the moment.  This is reflected in our admission numbers for both Year 7 and into the Sixth Form.  In 2017 we were very oversubscribed despite increasing our intake to 200 places for Year 7 students.

In the last academic year we received an inspection from both the Diocese and OFSTED. The outcome of the Section 48 Inspection was really pleasing.  The Catholic life of the school was judged as Good with many examples of Outstanding innovative practice. We are extremely proud to say that The leadership of Catholic life and collective worship was judged as Outstanding.  Religious Education was judged to be Good.  Overall the school is judged as being Good with Outstanding features.  In the recent OFSTED inspection, St Thomas More Catholic Academy was judged to be Good in all categories; fantastic news for the school and our community.

The open evening is on Thursday 21st September at 7:00pm.  I will commence the open evening with a presentation of all the developments and improvements within the school community and there will then be the opportunity for students and parents to take a tour of the school and meet some of our fantastic staff and students.

If you are unable to attend the open evening we will be holding a coffee morning on Thursday 12th October.  If you would like to attend the coffee morning, please contact Mrs Walker swalker@stmca.org.uk to book your seat.
